Vegetables, Bees, Fish and Trees – a School visit to remember

We loved showing Year 3 from Cayman International School around The Brasserie experience recently. The children first met our head Gardner Aide, who showed them our local harvest in the organic and biodynamic garden and explained about how we ‘grow our own’.

Chef Thomas was next in line and everyone piled round to see our latest fresh catch from our very own fishing boats, Brasserie Catch I and Brasserie Catch II, and explained why it’s so important to fish sustainable and responsibility.

We were delighted to be able to introduce everyone to our very own Beekeeper Efrain, who explained all about our bees, the process of making honey and how important the organic gardening is to the process. The Honey taster straws were a hit!

A change of scene took the class across to our fresh juice bar, Juiced @ The Wicket, where everyone got to try their hand at making a juice before getting to sample their handywork! screen-shot-2016-11-11-at-11-52-16-am

We loved taking part in teaching Cayman’s next generation all about our eco-friendly, farm-to-garden methods. Thanks for coming to see us Year 3!
